With more than 500 million active users daily sharing an average of 85 million photos a day, Instagram is one of the most influential social media platforms globally. And it is having a huge effect on travelers. Increasingly travelers choose places to visit that align with their hunger to take and post pictures from their destinations, snapping selfies of themselves in gorgeous, historic, and meaningful places. Native American golf courses and cultural activities are ideal in this respect. There are stunning golf courses, and authentic Tribal people, places and things. Examples include pristine ancestral homelands, golf courses that pay homage to treading as lightly as possible on Earth, and Native American artwork. Speaking of artwork, it’s customary to see things like the two giant carved and painted Totems pictured above. They grace the entryway to Salish Cliffs Golf Club, in Shelton, Wash., an amenity of Little Creek Casino Resort, owned and operated by the Squaxin Island Tribe.
